Firefox quick tip: view images in a new tab quickly

In: Browsers|Mozilla|Web development

A mini-tip on viewing images quickly in a new tab in Firefox. Useful for web devs who want to look at the URL of an image quickly.

As an example, here’s the Youtube webpage of the owner of Maru the Cat:

ff3-middle-click-step-1

To open the thumbnail image of Maru in a new tab, right-click the image, and then middle-click the View Image item from the context menu:

ff3-middle-click-step-2

It should open up in a new tab:

ff3-middle-click-step-3

You can also do the same for background images (middle-click View Background Image from the right-click context menu).

i realise how you really am wasting your time trying to brag yourself, sometimes i hate people like you, other times i do sympathize with people like you, are you ok? I am a man of principles and down to earth, don’t mind my frank outright language with you.

I do hope you could perhaps give me a call at 66180667, this is my company hot line at sun tech singapore, a very big premise and consultation i have for mentoring people like you who could be troubled with too many problems or in need of a mature guidance. i m diva sivar kumar from singapore who has graduated from oxford in counselling young naive ones like you, do give me a call and perhaps i can enlighten you. anytime you may reach for me the way a beggar reach out to an angel.

This was helpful to me and I feel dumb not realising I could do that. Also, dragging doesn’t always work. If the image is a link to some sit then it’s the site you will get if you drag it to a tab. That first guy is an idiot, even worse if he is who he says he is. An Oxford graduate would be intelligent enough not to have grammatical errors like “you really am wasting your time” and not capitalising in the correct places. He has just proven himself to be an asshole and nothing more. Plain and simple
