I’m exactly the opposite. I’d much rather be in web development than regular software. However, I’ve been in that “I don’t want to be here” position too, so I can totally understand where you’re coming from. Good luck with your career realignment :).

Wow, interesting dilemma… I’ve always been interested in working with software (I’m still a CS freshman) and precisely today I started pondering over the idea of doing something design-related. hmmm… As Bernie mentioned maybe it’s a good idea to do both.

I think you’ll find it much more satisfying to be working in a software development position with the option of doing web development in your spare time. If you’re lucky like me, you might even get to dabble in small web development tasks while working your software development job, too!
