On the prow for World of Warcraft Collector’s Edition

Update: I got it! I went all out in an eBay auction and bidding ended at USD130. My very first eBay purchase. Here’s the item listing. I should feel guilty splurging this much but: 1) this should be worth it, 2) life’s too short, 3) life’s too short to waste time refreshing eBay auction pages and losing eventually, and 4) money in PayPal doesn’t quite feel like real money.

I’m looking for a copy of the World of Warcraft Collector’s Edition which is incredibly sold out. If any of you chance by one of them in an obscure store, please let me know. I’ll be more than happy to pay for everything (cost + shipping and handling) plus extra for your efforts. I’ve been bidding on eBay but keep losing the auctions and my local pre-order is uncertain to arrive.

Here’s a look at what’s in the Collector’s Edition. The Art of World of Warcraft coffee table book and the behind-the scenes DVD look so neat I just have to get the Collector’s Edition.

Congrats, those are hard to come by… I settled for a betakit and a Standard Alliance Box :)

Now, lets hope they start the european beta soon :)

hehe, maybe I should have ordered the Collectors edition when i still had the chance :(
Pre-ordered the standard EU version + Beta-Kit when it first appeared on some danish webshops… waaaaaaaay before Blizzard announced that there would even be such a “kit”.

So what servers will you be playing on?

Thanks. The seller will be shipping this afternoon (in his timezone of GMT-5) and it will arrive in 3-5 days. I’ve no idea about the servers thing - what’s the difference between the different servers? I’d need to get one that doesn’t lag too bad. If anyone has a server to recommend let me know! I’m looking for buddies to play with.

Oh, and what’s this Beta-kit thing?

The beta-kit is for the European version which hasn’t launched yet, its a key that guaranties access to the final stage of the EU Beta. It’s free if you pre-order the final game.

I was under the impression that the US account-creation-thingy required a US Billing address for it to work… or can you bypass that somehow?

Yup you can bypass it by entering an Aussie or US address. Read a few threads about this in gaming forums.
