Furrier Fox
Read this (aswell as the XUL Google) off Redemptions Blog.

Found this one peticularly cool, obviously giving the point that the Fox is growing up and maturing. On the other hand, it's reported as a bug.. what's up with that?

Just to clarify, the actual FF application icon hasn't changed yet, and it won't get the sheen (as this will obscure the head too much, especially at smaller sizes). After the original icon, I created a detailed version for occasions (such as this) where the logo would be used large. Enlarging the original icon made it look a bit ropey, so a more polished version was needed.

Installer graphics come next...

Jeff, that seems to be a Mac-only logo for Firefox, just to fit in on that platform. If you look at Cheah’s article, the globe is a little lighter, but it doesn’t have that “sheen.”

Cheah, thanks for zooming in; I never noticed the dog that’s staring straight at that fox!

Hmm, interesting. I actually noticed this without noticing it, it seems. This afternoon when I went to check out the download count on spreadfirefox.com, I noticed the 2-million image looked a little different from the usual logo - specifically, the way the globe now has a sheen to it. (I can't remember if the dynamic image had the new icon or the old one in it.) I was observant, but it seems I didn't notice everything.

Most of the changes I do notice don't seem to be bad, though. I don't really like the globe sheen, though, because it seems too much like a Mac touch on an icon that's not just for Macs.

I was gonna say, excellent observation about the nose. I noticed it too, right away. There's also a lot of other little things.

But then I noticed who you were. It's like cheating. =)

Not just furrier, take a look at the shape of the face and the new detail in the pale 'underbit'!

I'm so glad that people notice!

Actually, if you look closely, his back is less furry than before. I think he got a hair transplant to cover up his receding hairline.

*sniff* is our little Firefox growing up?
