After the original icon, I created a detailed version for occasions (such as this) where the logo would be used large. Enlarging the original icon made it look a bit ropey, so a more polished version was needed. Installer graphics come next... If you look at Cheah’s article, the globe is a little lighter, but it doesn’t have that “sheen.” Cheah, thanks for zooming in; I never noticed the dog that’s staring straight at that fox! I actually noticed this without noticing it, it seems. This afternoon when I went to check out the download count on spreadfirefox.com, I noticed the 2-million image looked a little different from the usual logo - specifically, the way the globe now has a sheen to it. (I can't remember if the dynamic image had the new icon or the old one in it.) I was observant, but it seems I didn't notice everything. Most of the changes I do notice don't seem to be bad, though.
