1 Sep 2004So everyone has started giving away Gmail invites again because Google has started giving them out again. I don’t really know what to do with them because most people would have one already by now.
Well, at the risk of being uncool and mainstream, I’m going to give 4 of them away to readers. Drop me an email or leave a comment.
For a start, I’ll be giving them only to people whom I’ve heard from before. Just in case. If all 10 (OK so Bloglines tells me there are 296 subscribers to my RSS feed) of you already have a Gmail account, I’ll waive this and give to just about anyone.

I hope you’re planning on closing the comments for this post straight after you’ve reached 4 requests, otherwise you’re going to be getting random googlers here for weeks/months.
(and no thanks, I already have one)

Yup of course I am. This has happened before so I’m well aware of the consequences :)

Hi Chu Yeow!
Although I replied to your earlier Gmail invite give-away(s), stating that I don’t really NEED a Gmail account, I was still curious what the fuss was all about. Then surprisingly, someone send me a Gmail invite two days ago. So now I absolutely DON’T NEED another Gmail account ;-) Though I might still respond to future give-aways.

i won an invite yesterday, but to be honest i don’t think i’ll be using it that much anyway…at least it’s the pseudo-mystique of being one of the first (few tens of thousands) users on it…

I have the same problem! Some invites and everybody I know have an account. Offer those invites in my weblog was the way that I found to give them.
Good luck for you! :)

Matt (Gough): I sent you an email. I think your email provider may be filtering my email or something because I’d sent you an invite much earlier. If you see this, get in touch :) You know how.

Any “redemption” reader is welcome to come over to my dumb blog and leave a comment for a Gmail invite. I have 6 left for now.

I regularly read your blog, but never subscribed or made a comment before, I think. I like your blog visually and content wise … really good!
I don’t have a gmail account yet, so if you still can spare one you can reachme through kopa AT gmx DOT at
thanks

Don’t have one and would love to try one out. Thanks.
Do you think this is gmail’s way of controlling the growth? I’m sure if they suddenly opened gmail for release they’ld start having problems with all the sudden increase in data traffic. So this is probably to elleviate that.
