I was looking for a Canadian VPS and choose to go with MonsterHosting.ca. I have been very happy with there servers and service. I also noticed when I was shopping that most hosts don't give you access to the Power Panel that comes with Virtuozzo but Monster does. It has some really nice features to make life easier.

I chose Linode because of its Linode Platform Manager. It allows you to quickly install a distro from disk images via a web-based interface. I intend to use either Gentoo or Debian. Right now, emerge is taking a bloody long time heh. It took more than 6 hours to emerge glibc (which is not unexpected).

I’d pay attention at the distro they are using as a server.
I don’t think Fedora is the right choice for server usages, imho.

I’ve been very happy with johncompanies.com. They have a good deal if you’re an opensource developer for a Linux VPS system for $45/month.

TecTonic looks pretty good, especially the Power or Professional plan.
