Did I do that? I mean, did I make your site a target by mentioning referral spam?

Have the comment spammers figured out how to defeat MT-Blacklist? I assume you run that... Hmmm...

You may want to check your web logs to make sure you are not getting referral spammed to death. This month, I have been hit by around 8000 referral hits by porn sites trying to increase their google ranking. I've started using .htaccess to block these hits and just over 5000 of the above number were blocked. However, the over 3000 that hit me before I noticed cost me over 3.5GB's of bandwidth. I found out why and fixed the page that was being sent for each referral hit. Still...

I'm not saying your site isn't noteworthy and should have the triffic, I'm just saying you may want to make sure you are not sending out lots of bytes of data to those scummy referral spammers when they are just using bots to do their dirty work anyway.

Hehe...glad you find the extension useful.

And thank you for this blog. I only discovered it recently, but it's a great resource particularly for Mozilla-related news and introducing people to new extensions.

Chris, while I have your attention, I'd like to say thanks for all your work with your extensions, especially the Web Developer extension which most certainly rocks! It's guys (extension writers) like you that help make Firefox a popular browser. Keep up the great work!

And yes there does seem to be a lot of Mozilla-related traffic going around everywhere. Looking very promising.

That's funny, because my site also ran out of bandwidth this month. I write two extensions for Firefox (User Agent Switcher and Web Developer) and nearly all of my traffic is related to that.

This is the first month that I have run out of bandwidth (I'm currently upgrading my account) so this is a good sign that Firefox is getting more and more popular.
